In a word… NOPE.
In the latest annual survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), released this week, social media companies can be found near the bottom of the list in terms of customer satisfaction. Only internet service providers, subscription television companies and airlines fared worse – with Facebook and LinkedIn scoring lowest in the social media category.
Will companies like Facebook be able to continue their winning ways – monetizing their users while scoring so low in customer satisfaction? Given their secret research on users, their BIG problem with mobile, the fact that they have been around a long time (read: “old” in Internet terms), and the fact that they continue to play games with organic results (to name just a few flies in the ointment) – time will tell.
Oh, and how about the fact that advertisers not consumers/users now control Facebook? Just how long do you think that little program can last?
Let’s just say Facebook faces some challenges. And in the meantime – Google+ has been handed an opportunity on a silver platter but seems asleep at the switch. Hello Google! Anyone home???
PS. Hey Facebook – did you ever think about a building a search option for your platform??? Pedal faster – will you!
